A SHORT HISTORY OF RAMSHACKLICIOUS

It all began in the summer of 2006, with siblings Jack and Holly Stoddart drinking tea and wondering what they'll do next...

They'd been thinking about making a new show together and they'd heard that Cirque Bijou were looking to commission a new piece of street theatre to be performed at the Harbourside festival, Bristol. "We'll do that, then", said Jack, and Holly agreed. So they set to work writing a proposal...

Holly said, "We'll probably need something on wheels"
"Yeah, how about a coffin?" Jack replied.
"Yeah, a coffin... I like it. A coffin with an eccentric dying grandparent in it."
"Yeah and maybe a dead cat in it's own little coffin on wheels trailing after it"
"Yeah and maybe a little tiny mouse coffin trailing after the cat coffin"
"Yeah and maybe there should be three grandsons pulling the coffin whilst playing funeral marches and occasionally slipping into accidental Dixie-land jazz and bossa nova classics."
"Yeah and maybe they should all be on roller-skates"
"No, that would be stupid".
